When Change Happens

It's one of life's great ironies: The tough transition times, when we may feel God is distant, are the very times He is most inclined to draw close. And in those times, we may be most likely to respond.

But for us to hear his voice and sense his nearness, we need someone to stand with us, to help us bridge the gap between the challenges and demands of this life and the promise and hope of the next.

Of course, some of life's greatest transitions are about joy rather than sorrow. The birth of a relationship. A new career opportunity. The beginning of a family. Sometimes we merge from one positive and fulfilling experience to another, and change means moving from good times to better times.

Either way, whether positive or negative, these moments of life change bring with them great opportunity for outreach. What's your experience? How is your church meeting the challenge and reaching your community in those times of great transition?
